North Lenoir defeats Goldsboro, crowned ECC 2A baseball champs

North Lenoir hammered Goldsboro 14-0 in a five-inning, mercy-rule win on Tuesday evening.
Drew Rogers threw the shutout, allowing two hits and one walk and striking out six.
The Hawks strung together 11 hits. Allen Sutton and Joseph Harrison led the offense with two hits apiece.
North Lenoir (13-5 overall, 8-1 ECC) clinched the regular-season conference championship. The Hawks visit Ayden-Grifton on Thursday.
