Ahlers, Packard lead Conley past Eastern Wayne

GREENVILLE -- Holton Ahlers homered and Bryant Packard drove in three runs as D.H. Conley hammered Eastern Wayne 12-4 on Tuesday evening in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A conference action.
Phillip Sanderson got the win in relief for the Vikings giving up three hits and no runs. He struck out nine. Starter Michael Wright gave up four earned runs in 22/3 innings for Conley.
Conley scored all 12 runs in the second and fifth innings. They put up seven in the second and five in the fifth. The Warriors scored all four in the top of the third.
Eastern Wayne (12-5 overall, 6-4 ECC) visits C.B. Aycock on Friday.
