Hilltop Christian 5, Faith Christian 3
* Ethan Glover delivered a bases-clearing double during Faith Christian's 5-3 loss to Hilltop Christian on the N.C. Christian Schools Association 2-A scene Tuesday afternoon.
Glover, Christian Mills (RBI), Dylan Downey (RBI) and Jordan Hill each had one hit. Hill reached base twice on errors and scored three runs.
Alex Watson took the mound loss.
The Conquerors (1-10 overall) complete a suspended game at home Thursday against Wilson Christian.
Boys' golf
Eagles take second
* SALEMBURG -- Lakewood's Griffin Faircloth earned medalist honors with a 71 on his home course, and the Leopards emerged as the low-scoring team at 339 during a Carolina 1-A Conference meet at Lakewood Country Club.
Rosewood placed second at 360, led by Dylan Green's 83. Dylan Champion and Jeremy Mercer each posted an 18-hole round of 86 and 94, respectively. Cameron Klages added a 97.
Cole Pridgen paced James Kenan with a 77.
Hunter Brock carded an 81 for North Duplin.
Spencer Woodard shot a 93 for Princeton.
Middle schools
* Softball: Grantham 9, Norwayne 1 -- Amber Pfennig just missed hitting for the cycle with a single, triple and home run during the Bulldogs' victory. Kelly Dail, Erykah Baldwin and Mackenzie Bryan provided one hit apiece. Bryan posted seven strikeouts and limited the Cobras to two hits inside the pitcher's circle. Grantham (7-0 overall) entertains Wayne School of Engineering on Thursday.
* Softball: Wayne Christian 19, Freedom Christian 13 -- Noel Garris had two hits as the Eagles claimed their first win of the season. Wayne Christian (1-3 overall) faces Neuse on Friday.
