Eagles wrap up CCC baseball title, automatic bid to NCISAA playoffs

Ted Suggs had three hits and two RBI and Wayne Christian blanked Carolina Christian 1-A Conference foe Community Christian 17-0 in five innings on Thursday afternoon.
The Eagles cranked out 13 hits -- including two apiece from Holden Foster, Hunter Burt and Brandon Price -- and took advantage of seven Community Christian errors.
Tanner Rose, Foster and Austin Howell combined for a one-hitter and 10 strikeouts on the mound.
Wayne Christian (10-5 overall, 6-0 CCC) outscored its conference opposition 69-0 this season. The Eagles clinched the league's automatic berth to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs.
