Carolina 1A softball leader Princeton routs James Kenan

WARSAW -- Hailey Wood threw a complete-game shutout inside the pitcher's circle during Princeton's 19-0, mercy-rule shellacking of Carolina 1-A Conference foe James Kenan.
Wood logged a season-high 13 strikeouts and permitted two hits.
Taylor Carroll (five RBI) just missed hitting for the cycle with a single, double and triple. Meredith College commit Charley Cox contributed three hits and an RBI.
Emily Ricks belted a home run during a 2-for-2, 2-RBI performance at the plate. Casey Mitchell (three RBI), Wood (three RBI) and Emily Ricks (two RBI) each registered two hits.
Princeton (9-2 overall, 5-0 CC) visits North Duplin on Monday.
