Golden Falcons handed first defeat of season in baseball

HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- Charles B. Aycock dropped from the unbeaten ranks with a 5-1 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A opponent D.H. Conley on Tuesday.
The Vikings scored four fifth-inning runs on four of their seven hits as a team.
The Golden Falcons left seven runners on base. The lone run came on a Charlie Robertson bases loaded walk.
Bobby Hampton had two hits. Robertson, Kyle Davis, Brandon Palmer and Hank Smitherman all had one hit apiece.
Jake Naughton got the loss on the mound, going 4 1/3 innings and giving up five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits.
Aycock (7-1 overall, 3-1 ECC) plays host to South Central on Friday.
