* Charles B. Aycock 3, J.H. Rose 0 -- Luke Frederick had two doubles and threw six innings of shutout ball in the Golden Falcons' win on Thursday. Jordan Gay picked up the save. Bradley Pate and Chris Turner drove in the runs for the Golden Falcons.
Middle schools
* Softball: Lee Christian 19, Wayne Christian 8 -- Brianna Verme struck out nine batters, but walked 20, in the Eagles' mercy-rule loss on Thursday. Abi Harrelson finished the game in relief. Wayne Christian plays host to Neuse Christian on Tuesday at 4:30.
