Nemesis Greenfield bumps Chargers from boy's CPIC tournament

WILSON -- Wayne Country Day held one-possession leads after the first three quarters, but nemesis Greenfield rallied for a 77-64 victory in semifinal-round play of the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference tournament Friday evening.
Joel Davis paced the Chargers with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Victor Miller and DJ Waters contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.
"(A) well-played game, very good effort," WCDS head coach David Flowers said.
The Chargers (14-12 overall) are expected to receive an at-large invitation to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A state tournament. The 12-team field will be announced today.
