Rosewood grapplers thrash Pamlico County

Rosewood emerged victorious in the first 10 individual bouts and dismantled Pamlico County, 74-6, in opening-round action of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A dual-team playoffs Tuesday evening.
The Eagles (40-4 overall) face wild-card entrant East Montgomery (22-15) in eastern semifinal-round play Thursday at Chatham Central. The host Bears (22-6) face Louisburg (7-21) in the other semifinal.
Each match begins at 6 p.m.
The winners meet with a berth in Saturday's state championship match at stake.
Rosewood got individual victories from Cameron Helt, Kaleb Smith, Joshua Drew, Garner Beasley, Rayquon Jones, Kaleb Taylor, Tanner Smith, Reid Amodeo, David Dotson, Malique Boyd, Seth Finney, Samuel Drew and Jacob Carter.
Pamlico's lone win came at 132 pounds.
