Pope John Paul turned a last-second turnover into a game-winning layup and nipped Wayne Country Day, 41-39, in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference game.
WCDS committed a turnover with 8 seconds to play.
Lillian Freeman torched the nets for a career-high 23 points for the Chargers, who face PJP again in the CPIC tournament semifinals next week.
