Preps digest: JV, middle schools

* Girls' basketball: Faith of Rocky Mount 35, Wayne Christian 21 -- Holly Gurley scored nine points in Wayne Christian's loss to Faith of Rocky Mount on Monday. Madison Wells contributed four points for the Eagles. The Eagles conclude their season at home Thursday against Lee Christian.
* Boys' basketball: Faith Christian-Rocky Mount 69, Wayne Christian 54 -- Austin Kornegay dropped in 16 points and Micaiah Singletary scored 10 in non-conference play. Will White and Chase King each added eight points for the Eagles.
Middle schools
* Girl's basketball: Grantham 38, Wayne School of Engineering 10 -- Grace Tart's 11 points were enough to keep the Bulldogs (10-2 overall) unbeaten in seven Division II games this season. Eight players scratched in the scoring column for Grantham, which plays Mount Olive at home in its regular-season finale Thursday.
* Girls' basketball: Dillard 35, Spring Creek 12 -- Tyanna Morrison scored 12 points to lead Dillard. T'ziah Kelly chipped in 10 and McKayla Roberts had nine points. Dillard improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference Division I play. They conclude their season Monday at Rosewood.
