Yelverton, Mercer lead Eagles past Wildcats

The backcourt tandem of Lexi Mercer and Krystal Yelverton knocked down 11 points apiece during a 60-26 romp over Carolina 1-A Conference opponent Hobbton on Friday evening.
A total of 11 Eagles scratched in the scoring column.
Mercer picked the Wildcats for nine steals and wiped the glass for six rebounds. Nekia Williams grabbed six boards and had four steals. Hannah Daniels emerged as the Eagles' top rebounder with eight.
Jala Holloman and Alyssa Garrison collected nine points apiece for Rosewood, which had 41 rebounds and 27 steals as a team.
The Eagles (12-3 overall, 7-1 CC) play host to James Kenan on Tuesday.
