Gators bounce back, slip past Leopards

SALEMBURG -- Trey Hammonds and Brandon Gonzalez combined to sink four free throws in the final 50 seconds, and Spring Creek turned back Lakewood, 59-53, on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Friday evening.
Hammonds had 21 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Gonzalez registered 14 points, 13 rebounds and three steals.
Gary Williams dropped in 15 points.
Ranked No. 10 in the NCPreps.com 1-A poll, the Gators (13-3 overall, 6-1 CC) travel to Hobbton on Tuesday, and are the guests of Princeton on Wednesday.
