WARSAW -- James Kenan overcame a sloppy first half to pull away from Spring Creek, 58-44, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game played at Harmon Gymnasium.
Sloppy play and first-half foul trouble plagued the Tigers, who led 29-28 at intermission.
Nikki Judge led the second-half surge for the Tigers, scoring 14 of her game-high 17 points in the final 16 minutes. Sierra Jordan also hit double digits with 11 points.
Ashley Marriner and Tysha Teachy were the primary scorers for Spring Creek with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
The win wasn't exactly reassuring for Kenan coach Wendy Lanier.
"I truly am not pleased," she said. "We won, but not pleased with the effort that was out there. We'll take what we can get for right now."
