Eastern Wayne 70,
Western Guilford 31
* GREENSBORO -- Eastern Wayne built a 13-point advantage after one quarter and hammered Western Guilford, 70-31, in the Martin Luther King Classic on Monday.
Tianna Christopher and Natasha Johnson pumped in 13 points apiece for the Warriors, who improved to 16-0 overall this season. Jasmine Covington supplied eight points. Chelsea Wynn collected six points, pulled down a team-best eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
Treycie Ford contributed five assists and picked Western for six steals. Megan Mozingo added six points, five assists and three steals.
Naheria Hamilton posted seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
The Warriors conclude their stretch of three games in a five-day period at home today against county rival Southern Wayne.

Eastern Wayne 72,
Western Guilford 63
* GREENSBORO -- Blake Poland poured in 25 points and Eastern Wayne upended Western Guilford in the Martin Luther King Classic on Monday.
Poland pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists for the Warriors, who improved to 4-11 overall. Micah Smith had 19 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.
Zeke Martin contributed 10 points and six rebounds.
Eastern Wayne returns home today for a battle against county and Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rival Southern Wayne.
