Ayden-Grifton boys stun No. 6-ranked Goldsboro in OT

AYDEN -- Eastern Carolina 2-A cellar-dwelling Ayden-Grifton stunned No. 6-ranked Goldsboro, 72-70, in overtime Tuesday evening.
The Cougars let a five-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter before falling in overtime.
Rasheen Artis led the Cougars with 21 points. Joe Baker added 14 and Jaylin Thomas had 13. Myron Carmon had nine points but was 0 for 5 from behind the 3-point line.
Goldsboro (13-2 overall, 1-1 ECC) plays host to North Lenoir on Friday, and three-time defending state champ Kinston -- led by Division I recruit Brandon Ingram -- on Saturday.
