HIGH POINT -- University of Mount Olive freshman Peyton Schirman has been selected the Conference Carolinas men's volleyball player-of-the-week after an outstanding collegiate debut against No. 16-ranked Ball State University.
Schirman recorded 15 kills and a .367 hitting percentage during the Trojans' season-opening loss to BSU. He recorded five kills in Mount Olive's third-set win. His block, service ace and a kill -- all during a 13-4 run -- helped the Trojans push BSU to a fourth set.
Schirman finished with two blocks and two aces, and earned honorable mention accolades as "Off the Block" national freshman-of-the-week.
