FAYETTEVILLE -- Wayne Country Day played from behind all evening before a late rally fell short in a 68-56 to Trinity Christian on Tuesday.

Goldsboro transfer Alonzo Tyson had 26 points for Trinity to lead all scorers. Dennis Smith Jr., the No. 1-ranked point guard for the class of 2016, added nine points.
Joel Davis led the Chargers with 24 points, six boards and three assists. Victor Miller added 11 points and Kris Cooley had eight.
Shahim Muhammed grabbed six rebounds.
The Chargers (11-7 overall) travel to Pope John Paul II Catholic on Friday.
