Preps digest: JV, middle school news

* Boys' basketball: Kerr-Vance 72, Wayne Christian 57 -- Micaiah Singletary led the Eagles with a team-best 21 points in the Eagles' road loss. Austin Kornegay contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and one assist. Chase King added eight points and five rebounds. Tyler Weeks recorded four points, six rebounds and three steals. Jaxon Anderson handed out four assists and picked the Spartans for two steals.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Dillard 28, Norwayne 13 -- Nalexia Vann paced Dillard's offense with 15 points. Teammates Keturah Artis and Jordan Newsome pulled down eight rebounds apiece. Dillard (6-2 overall) is the guest of Spring Creek on Thursday.
* Boys' basketball: Grantham 51, Brogden 15 -- Jamal King tallied 23 points and teammate DeAndre Wright added 14 points in the Bulldogs' win on the Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference scene. Daetwan Barnes led Brogden with eight points. Grantham (7-1 overall) plays host to Greenwood on Thursday.
* Girls' basketball: Grantham 48, Brogden 13 -- Grace Tart (13 points) and Erykah Baldwin (eight points) emerged as the Bulldogs' offensive leaders. Ariana Sutton tallied nine points for Brogden. Grantham (6-2 overall, 3-0 WCMSAC Division II) entertains Greenwood on Thursday.
* Girls basketball: Rosewood 36, Mount Olive 10 -- Braylee Butts scored 14 points for the Eagles, while teammate Ar'zhane Dozier knocked down seven points. Rosewood (7-1) improved to 2-1 against WCMSAC Division I opposition this season.
