SEVEN SPRINGS -- Rosewood junior and returning all-state performer Lexi Mercer poured in a career-high 41 points during a 70-40 triumph over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Spring Creek on Friday.
Mercer did not play in the fourth quarter.
Jala Holloman scored eight points and Krystal Yelverton added seven.
But the night belonged to Mercer, who scored 24 of the Eagles' first 32 points. She is 33 points from 1,500 for her career.
"She was as locked in tonight as I've ever seen her," said Rosewood coach Rich Grantham. "It was an excellent performance, not only scoring the basketball -- she shot the ball well tonight -- but she showed all her talents.
"She dished it, she guarded it, she stole it, she rebounded it. Every part of her game was on display tonight at a very high level."
With the game put away by halftime, Grantham got a chance to play some bench players and continue to evaluate scoring options besides Mercer.
"I'd like to see us score the ball better with the second unit," he said. "We need to be able to figure out how to create some opportunities for themselves."
Amber Buchan led the way for Spring Creek with 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Jordan Lane and Rebecca Coor had six points a piece for the Lady Gators.
