Eastern Wayne 69, J.H. Rose 50
* Megan Mozingo and Shontel Monk had 18 points apiece as Eastern Wayne stayed perfect with a 69-50 win over Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe J.H. Rose on Tuesday evening.
The two scored in different manners. Monk did the work in the post while Mozingo shot well from outside, nailing four three-pointers in the win. A senior and team captain, Mozingo got the scoring early with three 3-pointers in the first quarter, setting the offensive pace for the Warriors.
"Every time she got the ball she felt like it was going to go in," EW head coach Phil Gray said.
The Warriors used a 20-10 run in the second quarter to pull away, going up 20 points at halftime and maintaining that lead through the rest of the game.
Tianna Christopher had 9 points as well for the Warriors (12-0 overall, 3-0 ECC) who continue to tear through their conference competition.
"We played team basketball," Gray said. "Everyone was passing the ball around and everyone was getting shots and opportunities."
Jillian Ebron led the way for Rose (5-10, 1-3) with 16 points. Myania Daniels scored 12 points, including eight in the fourth quarter.
