OFFENSE -- KK Best (Eastern Wayne): Junior quarterback accounted for 203 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in Warriors' season-ending, 35-12 loss to Havelock in the NCHSAA 3-A eastern regional championship game.
DEFENSE -- John Brooks (James Kenan): Junior linebacker recorded nine tackles for the Tigers, whose quest to repeat as the NCHSAA 1-AA state champs ended with a 34-31 loss to county archrival Wallace-Rose Hill.
