Wayne Country Day freshman Zan Pittman turned in another pair of state-qualifying times during a multi-team meet swam at the B.G. Darden Natatorium on Monday evening.

Pittman punched his ticket to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Classes 1-A/2-A championships with a first-place effort in the 100-yard freestyle (56.13) and runner-up performance in the 200 individual medley (2:19.26). Both times eclipsed the standard marks set by the NCISAA.

WCDS took fourth in the 200 medley in 2:14.55. Pittman, Daniel Covert, Nathan Rigdon and Charlie Dees comprised the quartet. The same foursome secured third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:54.94.

Covert claimed fifth in the 200 free (2:30.95), while Rigdon ended up fifth in the 200 IM (2:44.5). Covert and Dees each posted a top-15 time in the 50 free.

Rigdon seized third in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.25).

Wayne Christian's Stephen Whitfield and Brady Sugg placed 19th and 21st, respectively, in the 50 free. Whitfield captured 16th in the 100 free, while Sugg touched the wall 19th in the same event.

On the girls' side, Wayne Christian's Anna Rendall touched the wall third in the 100 backstroke in 1:26.29. She was 11th overall in the 50 free, while teammate Emma Rendall grabbed the 20th spot. Joly Fullerton was 32nd.

Emma Rendall recorded a 14th-place time in the 100 free.

Wayne Country Day's quartet of Abby Skinner, Olivia Dively, Alison Bailey and Laurel Hinson put together a fifth-place performance (2:38.59) in the 200 medley relay. Bailey and Hinson finished among the top 17 swimmers in the 50 free.

Bailey was eighth in the 100 free.
