* Boys' basketball: Smithfield-Selma 34, C.B. Aycock 18 -- Tayquan Hampton paced C.B. Aycock's offense with five points. Marquez Farmer contributed four points. A total of eight Golden Falcons scratched in the scoring column.
* Girls' basketball: C.B. Aycock 42, Smithfield-Selma 11 -- Hannah Vinson outscored the Spartans herself with a 16-point effort. Cassandra Lassiter and Embria Willis provided seven points apiece. Taliyah Greene knocked down five points.
* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro 71, Rocky Mount Prep 56 -- Jaryan Hargis emerged as the Cougars' top scorer with 17 points. Aaron Smith turned in a nine-point effort. Daryle Gaddis, Isaiah Cogdell and Jacob Owen each tallied eight points.
* Boys' basketball: South Wake 56, Goldsboro Heat 52 -- Josiah Simmons celebrated his birthday with a 19-point performance during the Heat's loss in NCHEAC South Division play. Teammate Gavin Portela supplied 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. The Heat (1-2 overall, 1-1 NCHEAC South) are the guest of Wayne Country Day on Dec. 1.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: South Wake 44, Goldsboro Heat 13 -- Luke Parks sparked the Heat with six points and five rebounds. Goldsboro (0-2 overall) visits Wayne Country Day on Dec. 1.
