After dropping three straight to start the season, Rosewood won its fifth game in six tries with a 44-20 conquest of Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin Friday night.

"I'm really happy with where our team is right now," RHS coach Robert Britt said. "They are playing hard for one another and they are playing from whistle to whistle. I'm proud to be their coach."

North Duplin threw a season-high 18 times, with Emiliano Mora completing seven passes for 87 yards to five different receivers.

Brion Kornegay had 86 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Rebels. JP Payton put up another 85 yards on the ground.

However, the teams combined for 278 penalty yards on 27 flags.

The Saints had a better second half, though, and were able to find some running room for Tyaire Allen, who had 24 carries for 109 yards. Dallas Graham managed 22 yards on nine carries and punched the ball into the end zone from 10 yards out.
