Princeton boys win Carolina 1A cross country meet

Princeton had four runners finish in the top six and dominated the competition with 21 points on the Carolina 1-A conference scene Tuesday.
Austin Sullivan was the individual winner coming in at 18 minutes, 59 seconds. Jose Moreno, Hunter Mitchell and Brent Hurst followed in second, fourth and sixth, respectively.
Rosewood's Dalton Farmer finished in third with a time of 19:18 to lead the second-place Eagles, who scored 45 team points.
Allen Coor finished in fifth as Spring Creek finished with 71 points. Hobbton scored 102 points and Lakewood had 133.
Princeton just missed out on the clean sweep, as the girls finished second with 45 points -- seven behind the Hobbton. The Bulldogs' Megan Evans, Altheis Balageo and Chelsea Hawley took third, fifth and sixth, respectively, for the Bulldogs.
Haley Thurston, of North Duplin, finished second overall with a time of 23:26 to lead a fourth-place finish for the Rebels (80 points).
Elaina Amy helped Rosewood to a third place finish with her time of 24:54 -- good for fourth. Rosewood tallied 73 points.
Lakewood rounded out the meet in fifth with 111 points.
