* Volleyball: Hobbton 2, North Duplin 1 -- North Duplin let the match slip away after winning the first set and lost 25-20, 23-25, 11-25. Abbey Pate had 10 assists and Stephanie Quintanilla had six kills. The Rebels are 3-8 overall and 2-7 against conference competition.
* Soccer: Wayne Country Day 1, Freedom 0 -- A younger Wayne Country Day team earned a good win against a more experience Freedom squad. Neyhamiya Shaw scored the lone goal off a DJ Drew assist.
* Volleyball: South Lenoir 2, Goldsboro 0 -- South Lenoir defeated Goldsboro in two games 25-9, 25-12 on Tuesday.
Middle schools
* Soccer: Spring Creek 4, Greenwood 1 -- Alex Castaneda scored twice for Spring Creek in the Gators' 4-1 victory over Greenwood. Marquise Newell and Josue Palacios also each found the back of the net. Spring hosts Dillard on Monday.
* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Greenwood 25-21, 25-16, 25-20 -- Madison Sullivan, Mikayla Price and Amanda Haggerty led the Gators' offense. Spring Creek improved to 4-3 overall this season.
