Preps digest: Middle schools, Neuse River YFL

Middle schools
* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Eastern Wayne 25-13, 25-12, 25-21 -- The Cobras improved to 6-1 overall and entertain Dillard for a doubleheader on Thursday.
* Boys' soccer: Rosewood 3, Dillard 1 -- Geovanni Abril punched in two goals and DeVante Phillips connected on one goal. Logan Mitchell and Tyler Acord handed out one assist apiece. Rosewood (5-1-0 overall) faces Mount Olive on Wednesday.
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Dillard -- The Eagles swept a doubleheader against Dillard on Monday afternoon. Jennifer Sutton served five aces. The Eagles (7-0 overall) play host to Mount Olive on Wednesday.
* Boys' soccer: Spring Creek 3, Mount Olive 1 -- Jose Reynaga punched in a pair of second-half goals to lift the Gators past the Chargers on Monday afternoon. Alex Castaneda scored Spring Creek's first-half goal. The Gators play Greenwood today.
Neuse River YFL
* 8-Under: Boys Club 38, Eastern Wayne Wee Warriors 0 -- Zavian Oates rushed for two touchdowns on runs of 45 and 40 yards, and threw a 30-yard TD pass to Darius Robinson. Robinson supplied a rushing TD that covered 25 yards. Dayquell Holiday scored on a 15-yard run. The Boys Club travels to Spring Creek next Monday.
* 12-Under: C.B. Aycock 42, Boys Club 7 -- Tyler Hughes rushed for 101 yards and four touchdowns. Omar Tucker contributed 81 yards and a TD. Quarterback Brody Morton completed three passes, including a touchdown strike to Clay Matthews. Tucker emerged as the defensive leader with seven tackles, including six for loss. Hughes contributed six takcles and one quarterback. Matt Newsome had seven stops. Noah Honrine posted five tackles. The Little Falcons (4-0 overall) travel to Grantham on Saturday.
