Tennis power Wayne Country Day dominates Lawrence

Wayne Country Day posted straight-set shutouts in three singles matches and one doubles match during a 9-0 romp over Lawrence Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
Gianna Democko, Jennifer Potts and Eliza Eagles each won 6-0, 6-0. Fourth-seeded Ally Willman and fifth-seeded Anna Allen each dropped one game.
Second-seeded Taylor Willman battled back to defeat the Warriors' Maggie Daniels 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8).
"Taylor and Maggie had the most-competitive match," WCDS head coach Mark Phillips said. "Taylor remained calm and relaxed, and came back to win."
The Chargers (10-1 overall) travel to Oakwood on Friday.
