Ayden-Grifton defeats Goldsboro on ECC 2A volleyball scene

In its first full match without Becka Pittard, the Cougars struggled to find the fire in a 15-25, 22-25, 16-25 loss to Eastern Carolina 2-A foe Ayden-Grifton.
"We just didn't play well at all," Goldsboro coach TJ Lancaster said. "Not enough effort. We were sluggish. Couldn't get on the same page."
Alexus Davis led the Cougars with nine killsand Matti Rose Lyon had five assists.
The Cougars (8-4 overall, 1-2 Eastern Carolina 2-A) will try to bounce back on Monday when they travel to North Johnston.
