Goldsboro eked out a 25-23, 25-20, 12-25, 21-25, 15-10 non-conference win over Beddingfield and extended its program-best win streak to four with head coach TJ Lancaster.
"These girls want me to start losing my hair I think," Lancaster said of his team nearly giving the match away after the first two sets. "They ran out of gas in the third and fourth sets but they really dug down deep in that last set and I was proud of them for that."
Alexis Davis mashed 11 kills for the Cougars to go along with 10 digs, four aces and two blocks. Becka Pittard had 10 kills, seven aces, seven digs and two blocks.
Maddie Jara had six aces and Angelina Nacca led the Cougars with 12 assists.
Goldsboro (5-2 overall) plays Southern Wayne on Monday.
