Goldsboro defeats Wayne Christian in 4 sets

Goldsboro defeated Wayne Christian 25-21, 25-12, 23-25, 20-25 on Thursday evening.
Becka Pittard led the Cougars with 13 kills and five aces. Matti Rose Lyon had five kills while Angelina Nacca dished out 11 assists.
Maddie Jara played her best game of the year with six aces and eight digs.
Sarah Sawyer led the Eagles with seven kills and two blocks. Hannah Sladick added seven kills and three aces and Emily Wells drilled five aces and handed out nine assists. Kasey Norris had 14 helpers.
Holley Gurley led the Eagles defensively with 19 digs while her sister Jody Gurley had 12. Senior libero Reagan Taylor had 16.
Wayne Christian (1-3 overall) travels to Lumberton today for a non-conference match against Antioch Christian. Goldsboro (3-2) plays host to Wayne Christian next Tuesday.
