Evans leads Warriors at Waynesborough Park

Zach Evans posted a top-15 time as Eastern Wayne opened its Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference season with a four-team meet at historic Waynesborough Park on Wednesday afternoon.
Evans ran the 5k course in 21:35. Teammates Josh Bartz (26th, 23:46), Zach Childers (30th, 24:04), Noah Berard (31st, 24;09) and Kaylor Sprague (39th, 24:46) rounded out the Warriors' team scoring.
Southern Wayne had three top-13 finishers.
South Central won the meet with five runners among the top nine.
