* Volleyball: North Pitt d. North Lenoir -- Jana Moore had seven assists during the Hawks' non-conference loss to the Panthers. Allyssa Brinkley had three kills. Allison Montague and Bailey Tilghman combined for 16 points on serve. The Hawks fall to 3-2 on the season.
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 5, Rocky Mount Academy 0 -- Hunter Bryson scored a hat trick (three goals) and Nehemiya Shaw collected two goals in Wayne Country Day's 5-0 rout of Rocky Mount Academy. John Thompson, Cooper Edmondson and Nick Fletcher each added one assist.
* Volleyball: Hobbton d. Goldsboro 25-15, 25-17 -- Juanita Cortes-Torres served five aces in the Cougars' straight-set loss. Goldsboro fell to 1-3 overall this season.
