Cougars boot Warriors in season-opening action

Four different players scored one goal apiece as Goldsboro tripped up Eastern Wayne, 4-2, in the season-opening match for both teams Monday evening.
Sophomore Rubin Quiroz, junior Jacob Seate, junior Jesus Quiroz and sophomore Aaron Seate each found the back of the net once against the Warriors. Rubin Quiroz, Jacob Seate, senior Luke McAlduff and sophomore Michael Eovine logged one assist apiece.
Eastern Wayne's stats were not submitted to the News-Argus.
Goldsboro (1-0-0 overall) entertains Hobbton on Wednesday, while Eastern Wayne (0-1-0) is the guest of Spring Creek on Thursday.
