Tony Townsend and Noah Adkins supplied two goals apiece during Wayne Country Day's 7-2, non-conference triumph over Community Christian on Saturday afternoon.
Returning starters Charlie Roethling and Jacob Magera, and freshman Hunter Bryson each collected one goal. Roethling converted a penalty kick set up by Matt Kierski, a 2013 all-state selection in the independent schools ranks.
Magera added two assists for the Chargers, who improved to 2-0-0 overall this season. Townsend, Adkins and Drew Barnes each had one assist.
Bryson notched a hat trick (three goals) during Wayne Country Day's season-opening, 6-0 thrashing of Cape Fear Christian on Friday afternoon.
Bryson tallied the game-winning goal 10 minutes into the opening half on an assist from Adkins. He added a second goal just before halftime and completed his hat trick on an assist from Kierski in the second half.
Kierski provided two goals and Townsend added one one.
Roethling and Magera each provided one assist.
WCDS goalie Patrick Hall earned the shutout between the pipes, keeping Cape Fear scoreless on four shot attempts.
""It was a good performance by us considering the last minute change of formation and game plan," Chargers head coach Steve Ellis said. "We have a young group and we blooded some young players today. It was a great first-half performance, but I was a little bit disappointed with our performance drop in the second half.
"Jack Talton and Hunter Bryson really played well today."
The Chargers play host to Oakwood School on Monday. Kickoff is 5:15 p.m.
