* PIKEVILLE -- Cole Barwick swatted his first home run of the summer, and Matt Hollingsworth and Derek Holsinger each claimed a pitching win during Southern Wayne Red's doubleheader sweep of Charles B. Aycock on Tuesday evening.

The Saints won 7-2 and 8-0.

Cody Davis cranked out four hits during the twinbill sweep. Jack Casbarro, Tyler Brock (two RBI) and Aryc Christman (RBI) each provided three hits.

Holsinger contributed two hits and three RBI.

Southern Wayne Red 7,

C.B. Aycock Blue 6

* Aryc Christman connected on a two-RBI double, helping Southern Wayne Red defeat Charles B. Aycock Blue, 7-6, in an Eastern Carolina Baseball League game Monday evening.

Cody Davis and Chris Reedy each had one hit.

Brandon Biggins earned the mound win for Southern Wayne Red, which improved to 4-1 overall this season.

Golf

* Mary Morris claimed low putts during weekly play on the Walnut Creek Country Club links.

Hiromi Sueki and Penny Ritt seized low gross and low net, respectively.

Another ace at GMGC

* Berry Anderson couldn't have imagined a better Father's Day present Sunday afternoon.

Anderson aced hole No. 13 with a 7-iron while playing a round of golf at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course. His son, Daniel, witnessed the feat.
