Hawks take inaugural ECC 2A baseball crown

La GRANGE -- Tyler Smith launched a three-run home run and North Lenoir won the inaugural Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference regular-season title with a 6-2 victory over Ayden-Grifton.
Luke Jackson, Noah Rees, Seth Beard, Brandon Moore and Orlando Cannon all contributed hits to the effort.
Landon Letchworth got the win on the mound allowing two runs and striking out six. Cannon pitched two flawless innings of relief.
North Lenoir (16-5 overall) finished 9-1 against ECC opposition this season.
