BELHAVEN -- Pungo Christian handed Wayne Country Day a season-ending, 2-1 loss in the NCISAA playoffs Tuesday afternoon.
Mason Bland (RBI) and Jacob Magera each had two hits for the Chargers, who concluded year 8-11 overall.
Mitch Turnage yielded two runs on five hits, struck out two batters and walked two. John Strickland pitched 1 1/3 innings of no-hit relief.
"I am very proud and honored to have coached this team," Chargers coach Michael Taylor said. "They listened and learned so much throughout the year. With only one senior leaving -- Jacob Parks -- I believe this team will only get better in years to come."
