North Lenoir shuts out Kinston in baseball

North Lenoir defeated Eastern Carolina 2-A foe Kinston 11-0 in six innings Thursday evening.
Landon Letchworth got the win on the mound, throwing five innings allowing no runs on three hits. He struck eight and walked four. Daron Gray threw one inning of two-strikeout relief.
Jacob Baird, Gray and Orlando Cannon each had three hits to pace the Hawks' offense. Tyler Smith and Noah Reese had two hits apiece. Letchworth and Hunter Smith each added a hit to round out the offense.
North Lenoir (10-4 overall, 5-1 ECC) travels to North Pitt on Saturday for a contest against D.H. Conley in the Pitt County Classic.
