Princeton girls triumph during three-team track meet

RINCETON -- Princeton secured first place in just four individual events during a three-team, Carolina 1-A Conference girls' meet ran on the Fred Bartholomew Athletic Jr. Complex track Thursday afternoon.
Jordan Pearce won the discus, Jasmine Bogle logged the top mark in the high jump, Nicole Evans won the pole vault and Megan Evans crossed the line first in the 3,200-meter run.
The Dogs finished with 48 points, while James Kenan edged North Duplin, 33-31, for second place.
The Tigers' Christy Debnam won three events -- 100 dash, 200 dash and long jump. Teammate Kaitlyn Stroud took the shot put. Kenan also won the 400-meter relay.
North Duplin's Haley Thurston notched first-place victories in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs. The Rebels took the top four spots in the 400 dash, led by Deja Aycock. They also captured the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.
