Chargers fall in CPIC baseball opener

FAYETTEVILLE -- Wayne Country Day mustered just four hits in an 11-1, six-inning loss to Freedom Christian in their Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference game Wednesday afternoon.
Mitch Turnage led the Chargers' offense with two hits. John Strickland and Jacob Magera delivered one hit apiece.
Mason Bland suffered the mound loss.
The Chargers (2-2 overall, 0-1 CPIC) entertain Epiphany on Friday.
