Spring Creek shuts out Neuse Charter

SMITHFIELD -- Three Spring Creek pitchers combined for a one-hitter and Spring Creek posted a 10-0, mercy-rule win over Carolina 1-A Conference newcomer Neuse Charter on Friday afternoon.
The trio of Will Rouse, Chad Spurgeon and Allen Coor combined for nine strikeouts and one walk on the mound. Rouse yielded the Cougars' lone hit.
Logan Miller and Sawyer Smith (two RBI) paced the Gators' offense with two hits apiece. Coor (RBI), Spurgeon and Matt Rogers (two RBI) each had one hit.
Matt Dupuy collected an RBI.
Spring Creek (6-2 overall, 3-0 CC) entertains Princeton on Monday.
