Preps digest: JV, middle schools

JV sports
* C.B. Aycock 6, D.H. Conley 1 -- Chandler Matthews doubled during a 2-for-4, 3-RBI performance in the Golden Falcons' victory on Friday afternoon. Bryce Anders contributed two hits. Jacob Sanford (RBI), Caleb Smith and Cameron Kornegay each had one hit. Chandler Gentry and Landon Casey each drove in a run. Matthews claimed the mound win with four innings of two-hit, four-strikeout work. Kornegay tossed three innings of one-strikeout scoreless relief.
* C.B. Aycock 3, J.H. Rose 1 -- Jacob Sanford scattered two hits and logged three strikeouts in a five-inning stint in the Golden Falcons' triumph over the Rampants on Thursday afternoon. Chandler Matthews and Bryce Anders combined for two innings of one-hit scoreless relief. Anders got the save and had two hits at the plate. Joey Hampton contributed two hits, while Mason Watt batted 1-for-2 with two RBI and a walk.
Middle schools
* Girls' soccer: Greenwood 6, Dillard 0 -- Madison Tallarida and Esperes Mfkilwakanda recorded two goals apiece for the T-Birds. Claire Molloy and Tiayana Barnes each punched in one goal. Tallarida and Barnes each had one assist. Greenwood entertains Mount Olive on Monday afternoon.
