Aycock girls dominate track meet

NEW BERN -- Charles B. Aycock emerged victorious in nine events and racked up 162 points during a six-team meet contested on the New Bern High School track Wednesday afternoon.
Courtney Warner posted regional-qualifying times in the 100-meter dash (12.28 seconds) and 200 dash (26.22).
Taylor Daniels captured the 400 and 800 runs, and ran the opening leg on the winning 3,200-meter relay, which posted a time of 12:02. She was joined by Precious Reed, Jania Smith and Breanna Outlaw.
Outlaw and Warner each participated on the 400 relay, which broke the tape in 54.28. Joining the duo were Natasha Williams and Bre-onna Bryant.
Klara Doyle won the long jump (15 feet even), Jade Creel captured the high jump (4-8) and Kristen Denning claimed the 3,200 run in 15:02.
Aycock returns to action next Wednesday at New Bern.
