DUDLEY -- Ethan Quinn posted a straight-set shutout at No. 2 singles and Eastern Wayne rolled past Southern Wayne, 9-0, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match Friday afternoon.
The Warriors dropped just 13 games on six singles courts.
"I thought the team played well with consistent strokes today," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "We are young and inexperienced at this point, but showing more improvement with each match."
Sam Biggs, Andrew Baker, Le Solomon, Kevin Larson and Gray Sasser each collected a singles point for the Warriors. The tandems of Biggs-Larson, Quinn-Solomon and Sasser-Andrew Murray completed the shutout by sweeping the doubles courts.
Eastern Wayne (2-3 overall, 2-3 ECC) entertains league-leading South Central on Tuesday.
