Preps digest: JV, middle school sports

JV sports
* Baseball: New Bern 12, Eastern Wayne 6 (8 inn.) -- Collin Nix paced the Warriors' offense with four hits, while Carlyle Smith contributed three hits. Braxton Lewis, Brock Johnson, Jacob Ginn and Devonte Corum supplied two hits apiece. Eastern Wayne had 18 hits as a team.
Middle schools
* Girls' soccer: Dillard 1, Rosewood 0 -- McKayla Roberts scored Dillard's lone goal. Keeper Keturah Artis earned the shutout. Dillard (1-1-0 overall) plays host to Greenwood on Tuesday.
* Girls' soccer: Spring Creek 3, Mount Olive 0 -- Mirna Santiago, Aisha Hamdan and Bianca Cuevas each scored a second-half goal for the Gators. Spring Creek entertains Norwayne on March 20.
