Broc Painter pulled out a pivotal first-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles, and Charles B. Aycock upended archrival Eastern Wayne, 7-2, on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene Wednesday afternoon.
Painter turned back the Warriors' Gray Sasser 7-6 (2), 6-4 and helped the Golden Falcons seal the overall outcome in singles play. Teammates Charles Hooks, Jackson Yelverton, Allan Best and Stanton Head each posted a straight-set win.
Hooks-Yelverton and Best-Addison Vail each picked up a doubles point for C.B. Aycock.
Top-seeded Sam Biggs and the No. 3 doubles of Andrew Baker-Sasser prevailed for the Warriors.
The Golden Falcons (2-3 overall, 1-1 ECC) extended their win streak to two matches.
