MOUNT OLIVE -- Bradon Reitano delivered two hits and drove in four runs during the University of Mount Olive's 10-9, non-conference loss to in-state rival Catawba on Tuesday afternoon.
The loss snapped the No. 15-ranked Trojans' three-game win streak.
Catawba erupted for four first-inning runs and maintained the advantage until the bottom of the sixth inning. Mount Olive (15-8 overall) forged ahead 8-7 on Reitano's two-RBI single to center field.
The Indians answered one at-bat later.
Blake Houston connected on a two-RBI double between third base and shortstop to make it 9-8. Catawba tallied what proved to be the game-winning run on a wild pitch, which made the score 10-8.
UMO climbed to within 10-9 on Cody Britt's seventh-inning RBI single, but could get no closer. Craig Brooks earned the save for the Indians, who exited Scarborough Field with an 11-11 worksheet.
Josh Frederick endured the mound loss for the Trojans.
Mount Olive returns home Friday for a Conference Carolinas weekend series against in-state foe Pfeiffer University. The teams will play a single game Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
