Bulldogs hand Saints loss on softball diamond

PRINCETON -- Princeton opened its 2014 campaign with a 12-2, mercy-rule victory over Southern Wayne on Tuesday afternoon.
Savanna Massengill, Taylor Carroll and Kelsey Peedin paced the Bulldogs' offense with two hits apiece. The trio combined to score four runs.
Tori Paul claimed the victory inside the pitcher's circle.
Haley Warren and Claire Kennedy supplied one hit and one RBI each for the Saints, who fell to 1-1 overall this season.
Morgan Best endured the pitching loss.
Southern Wayne travels to South Johnston on Thursday.
